On 13 March, colleagues and partners came together for a truly energising Breakfast Meeting hosted by Jacobs, marking the official launch of our new Partnership Framework.
The atmosphere was positive, purposeful and full of momentum — a brilliant start to this next chapter.
Bringing People Together
The event was organised by our wonderful Pauline Manby and Natalie Loon, who shaped a seamless, welcoming and highly-engaging morning. Their planning created the perfect environment for open discussion, shared learning and clear alignment.
Voices That Shaped the Morning
Alongside Pauline and Natalie, we also heard from various speakers associated with Bfriends:
- Dan Hickman (Director of Operations, Jacobs)
- Shannon Cole (Rights and Participation Apprentice, Birmingham Children’s Trust)
- Asma Al-Naamani (Bfriends co-chair)
- Lee Yale‑Helms (Director of Finance & Resources, Birmingham Children’s Trust)
Each speaker offered thoughtful perspectives from a place of knowledge, lived experience and the need for partnerships to help our young people live better balanced lives filled with opportunity and success.
A Shared Commitment to Better Partnership Working
The Partnership Framework represents our collective commitment to:
- working more openly;
- communicating more clearly; and
- strengthening our shared impact across Birmingham.
The level of engagement in the room was fantastic and it was clear that there was enthusiasm to work together in a way that truly benefits children, young people and families.
Thank You, Jacobs
A big thank you to Jacobs for hosting our event and giving such a welcoming and well‑supported space. Their partnership helped set a strong tone for the work ahead.
Looking Forward
The launch has given us renewed energy and focus. With shared purpose, strong relationships and the right framework in place our impact will far greater giving our care leavers the best support and opportunities just as they deserve.
