Check out our Bfriends podcast episodes!

Now we have our brand new website for Bfriends Charity – Friends of Birmingham Children’s Trust – it makes sense to share a series of special podcast episodes detailing the Bfriends journey so far.

Recorded last year on the Birmingham Children’s Trust Podcast, each episode invites a special guest to talk about a specific aspect of Bfriends, all hosted by our fantastic co-chair Abba Loughran (pictured above with Perry the Bull, the 2022 Commonwealth Games mascot).

First up is our former chief executive and now chair of the Birmingham Children’s Trust board, Andy Couldrick, who talks about the inception of Bfriends. In short, what drove us to create the charity in the first place.

In the second Bfriends episode, Abba invites Natalie Loon into the studio.

Natalie is Bfriends Charity’s Operations and Fundraising Manager, a behind-the-scenes force of nature and instrumental in everything Bfriends does, particularly all the wonderful events it hosts for Birmingham’s young people.

Here, Natalie helps explain exactly what Bfriends is, how it is we engage with young people and why they are at the centre of absolutely everything we do.

And lastly, Abba has a conversation with Richard Campbell from BLESST.

BLESST is Building Learning Safe Space Transitions, a grassroots community and a network partner of Bfriends.

Richard is the founder and managing director of BLESST, and talks about the importance of safe spaces for children and young people aged 8 to 18, his relationship with Bfriends and creating learning, self-development and growth opportunities for deprived communities.

A big thank you to Abba for her hosting abilities and each of our guests Andy, Natalie and Richard for their time and insight. Keep your eyes peeled for future episodes focused on Bfriends.
